Fern Smith Wright

Mrs. Fern Smith Wright, 93, of Dobson, passed away Saturday morning, September 4, 2010, at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. She was born January 9, 1917, to the late Walter and Electa Snow Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Raleigh Wright; three sons, Troy Thomas Wright, Harold Gray Wright, and John Edward Wright. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a retired homemaker. Surviving are a son, Freddie Wright of Mount Airy; five grandchildren and their spouses, Yogi T. and Nancy Wright of Mount Airy, Marie W. and Danny Isaacs of Rural Hall, Zachary H. and Melody Wright of Mocksville, LeAnn S. Wright of Murrells Inlet, SC, Myra G. Wright and Darrell Goins of King; eleven great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gaither and Ruth Smith of Elkin. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 6, 2010, at noon at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Trent Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at New Hope Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Dunmore Plantation, P.O. Box 705 Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff of Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, September 6, 2010 at New Hope Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Trent Lyons will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at New Ho¬pe Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until time of the service.
