Florence Nichols Brinkley

Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Nichols Brinkley, age 85, of Mt. Airy, the widow of James William Brinkley Jr. passed away on November 1, 2006 at Central Continuing Care Nursing Home in Mt. Airy. Florence was born in Grayson County Virginia to the late William Alexander Nichols and the late Lura Jane Joines Nichols. She was retired from Quality Mill in Mt. Airy and was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter Virginia Brinkley of Mt. Airy; two sons and daughters-in-law Ronald Dale and Rhonda Brinkley of Mt. Airy, NC, Freddie and Patricia Brinkley of Mt. Airy; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters Nannie Nichols of Randleman, NC, Willie May Frost of Portsmouth, VA, and Bertha Hodge of Mt. Airy; one brother Richard Nichols of Cana Va. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sister Bert Nichols, and Vertie
Slate;three brothers Leff Charles Nichols, Walter Nichols, and Samuel Nichols.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with Rev. Elmo Hiatt officiating.Burial will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens in Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis on Friday evening from 7 until 9 P.M. and at other times the home of her son on North Franklin Road.
