Floyd Oleman Sexton

Mr. Floyd Oleman Sexton, age 95, passed away on January 19, 2025. He was born on July 19, 1929, to the late John Wesley Sexton and Fannie Etta Roberts Sexton. Floyd was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. Floyd served our country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was the proud owner/operator of Kim-Mark Hosiery for many years. Left to cherish his memories are his children, Shirley Peele and husband Wayne of Kernersville, Steve Sexton and wife Susan of Mt. Airy and Mark Sexton and wife Sherri of Cana, Virginia. Floyd had seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren: Melanie Page (Bud) and daughters Chloe and Ella, Jessica Shouse (Rick), and daughters Daygan, Kelby and Mallory, Amy Mullin (Art) and daughter Adella and son Owen, Amanda Sparks (Billy) and daughters Mia and Kate, Daniel Sexton, Christopher Sexton (deceased) and daughter, Mikayla Kieswetter and her mother Kim Cochran Kieswetter, Brittani Busby (deceased) is survived by her husband, Brian Busby and three daughters, Emilia, Madelyn and Rosalee. In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Edna Mae Sexton; sisters, Leona Sexton Hale, Ella Mae Sexton Mickey; brothers, Herman, Garnett, David, Alex, Woodrow, Grady, Kermit, Lloyd, and Roy Sexton. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Brad Quesinberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Moody’s in Mount Airy on Wednesday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.
