Frances Taylor Asher

Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Taylor Asher, widow of Oland Asher, of Wilkesboro, passed away Monday, August 30, 2010, at Avante Nursing Center at Wilkesboro. Mrs. Asher was born November 21, 1921, in Pitt County, to the late Joseph and Lillie Leary Taylor. She was a retired CNA for Surry Home Health, where she truly loved being a help to others. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children, Jenny and husband Steve Triplett of Millers Creek, Kathy and husband Hank Foss of Lynwood, NJ, and Oland Asher, Jr. of Chicago; thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Frank Watson, and three sisters preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 3, 2010, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with the Rev. Trent Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home on from 12:00 pm until time for the service, and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Amanda Toney, 219 Windy Lane, Dobson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ruby Perdue Blackburn Adult Day Care Center, P.O. Box 984, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 in loving memory of Frances Asher, or to New Hope Baptist Church, 818 Prison Camp Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Avante at Wilkesboro for their loving, compassionate care.
