Frances Leonard

Mrs. Frances Holder Leonard, 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, Sunday, July 4, 2021.  She was born in Grayson County, VA, June 1, 1934, to the late Odoul A. and Maude E. Hicks Holder.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always greeting you with her infectious smile and warm hug.  Mrs. Leonard was a dedicated member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  She served on the woman’s committee, assisted in the nursery and sang in the choir.  She will be lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Donna Leonard, Eddie and Anne Leonard, and Mitchell and Kristina Leonard; grandchildren and spouses, Ashlie Leonard, Zachary and Brittnye Leonard; and Kayla and Kelli Streussnig, and great grandchildren, Berkley Pait, Autumn Pait, Maverick Leonard, and Aiden Streussnig; sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Hicks, Barbara “Bunky” and Chuck Norton; brother Bill Holder; sisters-in-law, Beulah Norman, Mary Martin, and Roxie Collins; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leonard was preceded in death by her husband James Thomas “J.T.” Leonard; an infant son Bobby Joe Leonard; a sister Faye Hodges; and a brother Bobby Holder.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Garden.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM.  The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Diane and Gary Felts, Joyce and Sam Prince, and Jerry and Linda Sheets for all the love and care they gave to Frances and the family during her sickness.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
