Frances Dianne King Mabe

Mrs. Frances Dianne King Mabe, 57, of 196 Kings Court, Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday night, July 2, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Mabe was born March 25, 1959, in Surry County, the daughter of Dorothy Mae Puckett King Bowman and the late Vester Cebrin King. Dianne was the manager at Ararat Grocery and attended Mount Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Christan “Chrissy” and Brad Gwyn of Ararat, VA, and Ashley Mabe of Pilot Mountain; a son, Mitchell Mabe of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Kalie Mabe, Ashton Gwyn, and Malakai Smith; her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Aldy Bowman of Ararat, VA; and three brothers and a sister-in-law, Barnell King of Meadows of Dan, VA, Richard King of Claudville, VA, and Johnny and Carol King of Mount Airy. In addition to her father, Mrs. Mabe was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Mabe; and two sisters, Rebecca Lynn King and Dorothy Marie King. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 2:00 PM at Mount Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Rickey Rogers, the Rev. Arlis Thomas, and the Rev. Dean Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
