Frances Marion Rowlett

Mrs. Mary Frances Marion Rowlett, 79, passed away on Tuesday September 15, 2009 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born in Surry County on December 17, 1929 to the late John and Rhoda Smith Marion. She and her husband of sixty years, Dr. Thomas Rowlett, Jr.; moved to Corpus Christi in 1955 where she became an educator in the local school system, then at the college level. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Mrs. Rowlett is survived by her loving husband, Tom, and her dear sons and daughters-in-law, John and Cynthia Rowlett of Boston, Mass. and Mark and Carrie Rowlett of Abilene, Texas; two granddaughters, whom she adored, Jillian Rowlett and Kristen Rowlett; special nieces, Martha and husband Mike Johnson and Pam Johnson and a great-nephew, Casey Johnson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rowlett was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bryce Johnson. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday September 20, 2009 at Double Creek Church of Christ Cemetery by Rev. Roger Sickmiller. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Surry County Animal Shelter, 172 Old County Home Road Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Rowlett family.
