Frances Virginia Bowman Stevens

Mrs. Frances Virginia Bowman Stevens, 67, of 1287 Newsome Street, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Stevens was born May 4, 1943, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Archie and Cora Slate Bowman. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodland Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Steven and her special friend, Terry Breeden, of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Wade Bryant of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Phyllis Bowman of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by a son, Michael Anthony Stevens; a sister, Shirley Lawson; and two brothers, Tommy Bowman and Wornie Bowman. A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Jimmy Slate officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time to depart to the cemetery for the service.
