Frances Irene Moore Taylor

Mrs. Frances Irene Moore Taylor, of Mount Airy, formerly of Stuart, VA, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Taylor was born October 20, 1920, in Stokes County, to the late Delia Martin Moore and Matt Moore, Sr. She was the oldest living member of Creasey's Chapel United Methodist Church in Stuart, VA. She was a graduate of Radford College. She was a retired teacher, having taught in Patrick County, VA, and Surry County, NC. She was a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Annie Badgett and Agnes Vernon, both of Mount Airy; a very special cousin, Sandra Moore of Roanoke, VA; numerous cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. Taylor; a brother, Matt Moore, Jr. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Mark Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, from 10:00 AM until the time to depart for the graveside service.
