Frank "Sam" Creed

Mr. Frank "Sam" Creed, 86, of 865 Sparger Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2006, at Surry Community Nursing Center. Mr. Creed was born March 27, 1920, in Surry County, to the late Roscoe and Effie Dawson Creed. He was retired from Bassett Furniture. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosie Ann Berrier Butcher Creed of the home; three stepdaughters and spouses, Jettie Wilmoth of Thurmond, Judy and Haywood Whitaker of Toast, and Janie and Frank Sechrist of Mount Airy; seven stepgrandchildren; seven great stepgrandchildren; two great great stepgrandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ray and Delores Creed of Winston-Salem and Glenn Creed of Mount Airy; and a nephew. In addition to his parents, Mr. Creed was preceded in death by a stepson-in-law, Joe C. Wilmoth; and a brother, James "Jim" Creed. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dale Wallace, and burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
