Frank Willey, 84, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Surry County, NC, and Titusville, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010. Frank was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army. He was an employee from 1958 to 1991 at Cape Canaveral during the height of the space program. Frank was a former member of the Methodist church in Indian River City, FL, and Hendersonville, NC. He loved golf, baseball, and bird watching. But most of all, Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Josephine Johnson Willey; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Craig Smith; a grandson, Evan Smith, all of Farragut. The family will receive friends Friday, October 8, 2010, from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Rickey Spencer. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on State Road in Elkin, NC, for graveside services. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. in the Moody-Davis Chapel. Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on State Road in Elkin, NC for graveside services.
