Frankie Chester Draughn

Mr. Frankie “Chester” Draughn, age 59, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1963, in Surry County, to the late James Franklin Draughn and the late Mary Freeman Draughn. Mr. Draughn was a faithful member of Hanes Baptist Church and worked for the Budd Group in Winston Salem. Mr. Draughn was a good and faithful friend to all that knew him. Chester graduated from Surry Central High School where he was a member of the AFJROTC.  Left to cherish his memories are his devoted friend and cousin, Christine Freeman.; his brother, James Ricky Draughn (Ann) of Mt. Airy; and his nieces, April and Nichole; four great-nieces; two great-nephews; aunt, Nettie Childress (Clayton) of Kernersville, NC.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Draughn was preceded in death by a special uncle, Bob Freeman of Pleasant Garden, NC.

            A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 19,2023, at 2:00 PM, in the Welcome View Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Jason Holley officiating.
