Franklin "Frank" Delano Jarrell

Mr. Franklin “Frank” Delano Jarrell, age 88, of Kernersville, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Mr. Jarrell was born in Patrick County to the late Ben Alec and Mary Alma Hancok Jarrell.  Frank was a retired machinist and midget race car driver, traveled the country winning races and making friends. He was inducted into the National Modified Midget Association (NMMA) Hall of Fame 1989 and NMMA Drivers Hall of Fame in 2000.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Wood Jarrell, three sons, Randy Jarrell and girlfriend Teckla, Craig Jarrell, Kevin Jarrell; one grandson, Clinton Jarrell; one sister and brother-in-law, Aleene Jarrell Ward and Richard; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Jarrell, Dallas Jarrell and Diane, Donnis Jarrell, Vernell Hodges, Barbara Jarrell; along with several nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Kevin Kilbreth officiating.  Interment will follow in the Franklin-Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is has been entrusted with the arrangements.
