Franklin "Frank" Roy Johnson

Mr. Franklin “Frank” Roy Johnson, age 89, of Kernersville, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Silas Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winston-Salem.  He was born in Grayson County on August 26, 1933, to the late Andrew Isaac Johnson and Ella Sidden Johnson.  He was a farmer, and had also retired from Henredon Furniture.  Mr. Johnson was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and David Lawson; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Barbara Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Robert and Angie Johnson, Carl and Donna Johnson, Paul Johnson, David Johnson; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Andrew , and Russell Johnson.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Alene Clement Johnson; sisters, Caroline Davis, Rosetta Nichols, Ruth Golden, Grace Smoot, Florence Mooney, Irene Lackey; brothers, Ernest, Forest, Harding, Kyle, Nottie, and George Johnson.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. D.C. Collins and Rev. Wayne Sechrest.  Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the funeral home.
