Franklin Roosevelt Goins

Mr. Franklin Roosevelt Goins, 77, of Stuart, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Pioneer Hospital in Stuart, VA. Mr. Goins was born August 20, 1932, in Patrick County, VA, to the late Euel W. and Princess Thompson Goins. He retired from Barber Hosiery Mill and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Goins is survived by three sisters and a special brother-in-law, Peggy Goins Gray of Mount Airy, Catherine and John Smith of Ararat, VA, and Juanita "Tootie" Jarrell of Middletown, OH; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jay and Gay Goins of Mount Airy, Bobby and Mickey Goins of Winston-Salem, and Herbert Goins of Oakwood, VA; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Hawks of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Phillips Goins; a sister, Mozelle Hawks; and three brothers, Allen Goins, Charles Goins, and Grover Goins. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Skyline Memory Gardens, by the Rev. Dean Eaton. The family will receive friends Thursday at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 9:00 AM until the time to leave for the service.
