Franklin Delano Roosevelt Snow

Mr. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Snow, 71, of 701 Calloway Road, Lowgap, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Snow was born October 16, 1936, in Surry County, to the late William Mal and Lisha Edwards Snow. Franklin owned and operated a sawmill for many years. He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Larnette Snow of Cana, VA, and Wayne Snow and Tony Snow, both of Mount Airy; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dale Penley of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, Wayne Snow, Jr., Chasity Snow, Brandon Dixon, Mitchell Dixon, and Kristi Penley, all of Mount Airy, Kyle Snow of Cana, VA, and Sarah Summers of Louisville, KY; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Thelma and Swanson Goad of Cana, VA, Alma Riddle of Douglas, GA, and Lettie Mae Tate of Lowgap; and a special niece, Sandy Hooks of Lowgap. In addition to his parents, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by a brother, William Arliss Snow. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 11:00 AM at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Donnie Hooker officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
