Mr. Frazier Marion “Pete” Montgomery, 72, of Little River, SC, formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 5, 2020, at the Angel House Hospice Care Center in Whiteville.  Mr. Montgomery was born December 14, 1947, in Patrick County, VA, one of four children born to the late John and Mary Agnes Smith Montgomery.  Pete proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from 1971 until 1973.  He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 186 in Little River, SC.  Pete retired as an education specialist at Andrews Air Force Base for the United States Federal Government and was a member of Mount Bethel Moravian Church.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris Delano Montgomery of the home; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Roger T. and Jeanette Montgomery of Dobson and Marty Moser Montgomery of Mount Airy; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Oscar and Darlene Delano of Bowie, MD, and Charlotte and George Jenkins, Brenda Delano, and Jean Delano, all of Warsaw, VA; several nieces and nephews; an aunt, Margaret Davis of Mount Airy; and an uncle, Wayne Smith of Fayetteville.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Montgomery Pack; a brother, John Robert Montgomery; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vernon and Virginia Delano; a sister-in-law, Thelma Delano Prince; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Delano and Harold Delano.  The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Bruce Ayers, acolyte, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Due to public health concerns, attendees are requested to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH  45250-0301.
