"Mickey" Fred Garr Finney, Jr.

Mr. Fred Garr “Mickey” Finney, Jr., 83, of Mount Airy, passed away on Thursday October 20, 2022, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Henry County, Virginia on January 24, 1939, to the late Fred Garr Finney, Sr. and Dessie Latossie Butcher Finney.  Mickey was a retired welder.  Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Melinda Ruth Williams Finney; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie and David Keaton, and Sherry and Clayton Fulk; two sons, Ryan Stephen Finney and Bobby Eugene Driver; step daughter, Allison Davis and husband Justin; 4 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren, Camden Davis, Aubree Davis, and Chance Davis; 4 great grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Gray Finney and wife Lisa, and Roger Dale Finney and wife Jackie; mother-in-law, Betty Williams; two sisters-in-law, Teresa Tesh and husband Mark, and Pam Trent and husband Richard; a brother-in-law, Ricky Williams and wife Glenda; and several nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday October 25, 2022, at 4:00PM in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Brother Johnny Gray Finney officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the funeral home.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Finney family.  Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with medical bills.
