Freddie Paul Mills

Mr. Freddie Paul Mills, 76, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010. Mr. Mills was born May 16, 1934, in Surry County, to Fred Vernon and Nellie Ada Simmons Mills. He retired from General Motors Inc. after 30 years of service. Surviving are his loving wife, Alice Marie Blankenship Mills of the home; a stepson, Randall Blankenship; grandchildren, Andrew King, Ryan Blankenship, and Amanda Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Whited, Daymen King, Drayden King, Logan Grose, and Paxton Blankenship; a step-great-grandson, Ethan Cline; sisters, Adele Puckett of Winston-Salem, Betty Bailey of South Carolina, and Faye Richie of Tampa, FL; and brothers, Allen Mills of Westfield, Curtis Mills of Swartz Creek, MI, and Gary Mills and his wife, Patricia, of Corunna, MI. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Willis; and a brother, Clay Mills. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Tommy Floyd and the Rev. Keith Love officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
