Mr. Freddy Larry Hayden, 69, of Walkertown, passed away Monday morning, June 11, 2018, at his home. Mr. Hayden was born July 3, 1948, in Patrick County, VA, one of four children born to the late Fred Romney and Bessie Opal Pike Hayden. Freddy retired as a security officer from the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Salisbury and was a member of Welcome Door Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Talbert Vann Hayden of the home; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret and Leonard Hamm and Glenda Culler, all of Mount Airy; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Mike Ziglar of Rural Hall, Clifford and Lettie Talbert of Stokesdale, Kenneth and Carolyn Talbert of Danbury, David Talbert and his significant other, Dorie East, of King, and Ricky Talbert of Winston-Salem; his nieces and nephews, Sondra Chantay Noah, Cherie Sizemore, Christie Talbert, Pamela and Ron Johnson, Carol and Andy Buchanan, Norman Chester Noah, Jr. and Leann Noah, and Adam Talbert; and a great nephew, Seth Johnson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hayden was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers-in-law, Kay Frances and Norman Chester Noah, Sr. and Roger Dowell Culler. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Hatchers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Claudville, VA, with the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
