Frederick Ralph Mitchell

Mr. Frederick Ralph Mitchell, 94, widower of Marjorie Moore Mitchell, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Wyandotte County, Kansas to the late Ona and Effie Sigman Mitchell. He was a retired trucker and was of the Baptist faith. During the great depression, Mr. Mitchell served in the CC Camp, now known as the Army Corp of Engineering and was a member of the Teamsters International. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Eunice and Bro. Alton Hamby of Walnut Cove, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Eldon and Peggy Mitchell; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Justine "Tine" Hamby; three grandchildren and twin sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Baux Mountain Baptist Church in Germanton, with Bro. Mark Smith, Bro. Sam Carpenter Bro. Jerry Nelson, and Bro. Alton Hamby officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Dobson. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until time for the service. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Mitchell family.
