Freida Haynes Swift

Mrs. Freida Haynes Swift, age 88 of State Road, NC a loving mother and grandmother passed away at the Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin on Thursday December 16, 2010. She was born in Surry County on December 26, 1921 to the late A.P. and Alice Pearl Cockerham Haynes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Swift; a twin brother Kent Haynes and her older brother Frank Haynes. She was a homemaker, a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and was a graduate of Mountain Park High School. Surviving are her three sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Sheila Swift, Mike and Jennifer Swift, Jeff and Sheila Swift all of State Road, NC; by five grandsons Shaune Swift, Corey Swift, Jonathan Swift, Adam Swift, and Jacob Swift; by a great nephew Josh Mandell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday December 19, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson with burial to follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery. Rev. Russell Nixon will conduct the service. The Family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 1:00 P.M. until the time of her service at 2:00 P.M. The family would like to give Hugh Chatham Nursing Center a special thanks for the love and care given to their mother.
