Friel Allen

Mr. Friel Morris Allen, 75 of Mount Airy passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Alleghany Center in Sparta, North Carolina.  Mr. Allen was born on October 21, 1945 in Surry County to the late William Elbert and Frances Haynes Allen.  Friel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.  He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Frances Gwyn Allen; two daughters, Sherrie Allen, and Frances “Sissie” Allen; five sons Friel Morris Allen, Jr “Peewee”, James Allen, Carl Allen, Gary Allen, and Sean Allen; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by a sisters, Faye Allen Slate; five brothers, Lee Allen, Willie Allen, Marvin Allen, Victor Allen and Chester Allen.  No formal services will be held at this time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alleghany Center, 179 Combs Road, Sparta, North Carolina, 28675.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
