Garnet Isley Jones

Mr. Garnet Isley Jones, 86, of Cana, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 26, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born September 7, 1938, in Carroll County, VA, the son of the late Larkin Isley and Bessie Elizabeth Easter Jones. A proud veteran, Garnet served his country in the United States Army during the early 1950s. He was also a valued member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 AF and AM. Garnet retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a truck driver for Estes Express Lines. He is survived by his wife, Linda Gayle Ogle Jones; his grandson, Eric Steele; his granddaughter, Laura Beth Vogler; his great-grandsons, Payton Corder and Abram Godfrey; his sisters, Margaret Jones and Marie Edwards (Stanley); his brothers, Clayton Jones (Shirley), Clarence Jones (JoAnn), Marlie Jones, Murphy Jones (Rosa), and L.J. Jones (Terry); and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by an infant son; his daughter, Karen Jones Vogler; and his brothers, Melvin Jones and Marvin Jones. A memorial service to honor Mr. Jones will be scheduled at a later date. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
