Gary Gene Collins

Mr. Gary Gene Collins, 61, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy.  He was born in Surry County on February 15, 1963, to the late James Wenford and Lena Arnder Collins.  Mr. Collins was a faithful member of Welcome Baptist Church.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hodge Collins; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Ashleigh Williams; grandchildren, Hanna Mae Williams, and Jed Felts; a sister, Billy Bryant; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Terrilynn Collins; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by a stepmother, Ethajean Collins; a stepfather, Bill Bryant.  A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Rick Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
