Gary Lee Jenkins

Mr. Gary Lee Jenkins, 57, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011, at his home. Mr. Jenkins was born May 6, 1953, in Surry County, to Francis Haynes Jenkins Ross and the late Lewis Alford Jenkins. He was the owner and operator of Gary's Auto Sales, Inc. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Payne Jenkins of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ricky Edwards of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Amanda Jenkins of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Austin Jenkins, Abigail Jenkins, and Casey Edwards; his mother, Francis Haynes Jenkins Ross of Mount Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Sam Collins of Stokesdale and Rita Gregory of Williamsburg, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Mary Jenkins and Larry and Emma Jenkins, all of Mount Airy, and Timmy and Ava Jenkins of Williamsburg, VA; half-sisters and their spouses, Jeannie and John Tate and Maude and Joey Donathon, all of Mount Airy; a half-brother and his wife, Jamie and Sharon Jenkins of Mount Airy; a stepsister and her husband, Rhonda and Ronald Hawks of Lowgap; and his stepgrandmother, Louise Underwood of Mount Airy. In addition to his father, Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradly Jenkins; a sister, Nelta Marshall; a brother, Terry Jenkins; a half-brother, Mitchell Jenkins; and his stepmother, Mary Ruth Jenkins. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jimmy McCraw officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home from 12:30 until the time to depart to the cemetery for the service.
