Gary Cecil King, Sr

Mr. Gary Cecil King, Sr., 58, of 2635 Pedigo Ridge Road, Claudville, VA, passed away Tuesday night, October 13, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. King was born November 7, 1950, in Patrick County, VA, to the late James Adam and Fannie Leone Culler King. He retired as a truck driver from the United States Food Service and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Bell King of the home; three children and their spouses, Pamela and Claude Puckett of Lowgap, Dawn King and her fiance, Shawn Emerson, of Princeton, WV, and Gary Cecil "G.C." King, Jr. and Jenna King of Claudville, VA; two stepchildren and their spouses, Joshua and Tasha Lawson and Brandy and Johnathan Jones, all of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Kasey Puckett, Heather Puckett, Danielle Emerson, and Austin Emerson; four step-grandchildren, Carter Lawson, Nathaniel Jones, Stephanie Emerson, and Tristan Trivette; a sister and brother-in-law, Florence and the Rev. Otis Goins of Albemarle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Ann King of Ararat, VA, and Troy and Frances King of King; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Franklin King. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 16, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dean Eaton and the Rev. Otis Goins officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the King home in Claudville, VA.
