Gene William Danley

Mr. Gene William Danley, age 75, of Ararat, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mr. Danley was born in Surry County on January 5, 1943, to Perry William and Myrtle Mae Key Danley.  After retiring as a self-employed photographer, he was an avid golfer and was the manager of White Pines Country Club.  Surviving is his loving wife, Janis Lawson Danley; his son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Annette Danley; a grandson, Wil Danley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara Danley, and Jackie and Joan Danley.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Danley was preceded in death by an infant son, Mickey Maurice Danley.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 22, 2018, at Blackwater United Methodist Church Cemetery, by Rev. Jack Danley.  The family will receive friends at the church, Monday, one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blackwater United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Lind Key, 483 Key Rd., Ararat, NC 27007.
