Gennell Williams

             Mrs. Gennell Williams, age 81 of Bassett, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at her home.  She was born in Patrick County on June 21, 1941, to the late John P. Williams and Gracie Rorrer Williams.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Delano R. Tatum; three brothers, John A. “Buck” Williams, Jimmy Lee Williams, Robert “Bob” Williams; and five sisters, Mary Fern Baldwin, Tecora Quesinberry, Bernice Shaffer, Juanita “Betty” Rogers, and India “Dot” Haynes.  Gennell loved sewing, knitting, and was a wonderful cook.

         Surviving are two brothers, Frank D. Williams of Sparta, NC, Joel P. “Pat” Williams of Elkin, NC; special nephews, Johnny Williams, Lee Fain; special friends, Janet, and Kim; and several nieces and nephews.

         Funeral services will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery off Trot Valley Rd., Stuart.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
