George Heath Beamer

Mr. George Heath "Joe" Beamer, 73, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, at his home. Mr. Beamer was born February 15, 1937, in Surry County, to George and Alpha Nuckolls Beamer. He served our country in the United States Navy and was a retired truck driver after 20 years of service. Surviving are his wife of almost 52 years, Peggy W. Beamer of the home; a sister, Jerry Limer; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Diane Beamer; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Sybil Whittaker; a niece, Julie Roberts; a nephew, Pete Limer; a special cousin, Frances Sims; a special friend, Zeb Mathis; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Tony Hayworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.
