George Lee Bombe, Sr.

Mr. George Lee Bombe, 79, of Mt. Airy, passed away at his home, Sunday, March 19, 2023.  He was born in Genesee County, MI, June 2, 1943, to the late Frank Joseph Bombe, Sr. and Bertha Lampin Bombe. Mr. Bombe was a caring husband, father, and grandfather.  He worked for many years and was a well-known carpenter and mechanic.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Shirley Linville Bombe; daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy Simpson, Kellie and Alex Ellis, and Kris and James Loggins; sons George Bombe, Jr. and Jeff Bombe; stepsons, Matt and Zach Johnson; grandchildren and spouses, Hunter, Rene (Will), Olivia, Justin, Jessica (Ryan), Blake (Amber), Jarred, Jordan, Dillon, Rylan, and Jimmie; eleven great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jan Bombe; and special family friends, Tim, Randy and Sylvia .  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bombe was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Bombe; a granddaughter, Emily Boyles; a grandson, Joey Bombe; a brother, Frank Bombe; and son-in-law, Mike Simpson.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Rev.
