Mr. George Harmond Randall, Sr., 88, of Mount Airy, was carried by the angels joyfully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday morning, June 5, 2022. He will be greatly missed, but also celebrated in his arrival home. In memory, he remains a good man, a faithful and deeply loved husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, and a friend to so many. He was a talented poet, who wrote about spiritual, patriotic (donating over 50,000 yellow ribbon poems to the United States troops), and inspirational family-subject poems. While in health, he remained a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. He will be remembered there for his kindness, good sense of humor, hugs, and genuine love of everyone. He has gone to a great reward for his witness in word and action, winning many souls to the Savior. We know as the Lord embraces him, He has said, “Well done, good and faithful servant, son, enter into your reward.” Mr. Randall was born September 5, 1933, in Saratoga County, NY, one of seven children born to the late Lewis Earl Randall, Sr. and Lillian Crockett Randall. Left here to continue to do God’s mission on earth is George’s devoted wife of 59 years, Janyce Carol Brooks Randall of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, George and Sandra Randall of Cana, VA, Stephen and Susan Randall of Hillsville, VA, and Jason and June Randall of Oak Island; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Leslie and Judy Randall of New York; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Randall was reunited with a son, Timothy Randall, who preceded him into heaven; along with four sisters, Lillian Norton, Marion Cole, Betty Titus, and Beatrice Charboneau; and a brother, Lewis Earl Randall, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church, with the Rev. Zane Fishel and Minister George Randall officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 3615 Rockford Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
