Mr. George Pershing Reynolds, 66, of 738 Nurse Road, Ararat, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012, at his home. Mr. Reynolds was born March 3, 1945, in Surry County, the son of the late Bartie Coleman and Maude Irene Mikels Reynolds. George worked at Proctor-Silex Inc. for many years. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Lynette Reynolds of Ararat; seven sisters and six brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Edward Cave of Dobson, Lucy Angel of Pilot Mountain, Darlene and Leon Haynes and Kaye and Grayson Simmons, all of Mount Airy, Faye and Tim Stanley of Elkin, Kathy and Keff Jordan of Statesville, and Frankie and Mike Simmons of Ararat; a brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Lydia Reynolds of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, James "Buster" Weddle of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Reynolds; and a niece, Cynthia Cave. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lee Johnson and the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Rock Hill Baptist Church, and other times at The Reynolds Homeplace, 155 Veterans Lane (off Nurse Road), Ararat. Donations of remembrance may be sent to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
