Mrs. Georgia Sue Gardner Bunker, 80, of 1297 Galax Trail, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Bunker was born July 20, 1928, in Surry County, to the late James H. and Clara Jarrell Gardner. She retired from the cafeteria at Franklin Elementary School and was a member of Franklin Heights United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cissy and Ricky Wayne Dalton of Fancy Gap, VA; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Kay Bunker and Bill and Janet Bunker, all of Mount Airy; a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Laura Gardner of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Matt Bunker, Jimmy Bunker, Shane Brim, Lindsay Morgan, and Christopher Bunker; stepgrandchildren, Jason Dalton and Dena Dalton; six great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a special sister, Peggy Johnson of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bunker was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carl Bunker. A graveside service will be held Wednesday May 20, 2009, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
