Georgia Ruth Harris Johnson

Mrs. Georgia Ruth Harris Johnson, 64, of 159 Willis Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Johnson was born September 15, 1942, in Surry County, to the late Brady and Nellie Coe Harris. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Clifford Hiatt Johnson of the home; two daughters, Detra Johnson of Raleigh and Tara Bowen of Fuquay-Varina; a son, Gregory Johnson of Clarksville, VA; seven grandchildren, Vaughan Davis, Heather Davis, Cara Davis, Natalie Johnson, Nicole Johnson, Nina Johnson, and Tristan Bowen; two stepgrandchildren, Danny Bowen and Amy Bowen; a great grandson, Matthew Hagan; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Carolyn Harris of Winston-Salem; three nieces, Dianne Hull, Kay Lawson, and Jill Harris; and two nephews, Hank Harris and Bruce Harris. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen Carroll, Margaret Dollyhight, and Irene Easter; and three brothers, Ollie Harris, Charlie Harris, and Jack Harris. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 9, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Larry Johnson. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
