Georgie Ethel Anderson

Mrs. Georgie Ethel Watson Anderson, 90, of Claudville, VA passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Surry Community Health and Rehab in Mt. Airy.  She was born in Surry County on August 29, 1928 to the late Nathan and Lucy Matthews Watson.  Mrs. Anderson retired from Gentry Middle School and was a faithful member of Unity Bible Church in Ararat, VA.  Georgie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Bill Flynn; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Patricia Anderson; grandchildren, Brack Beasley and friend Lisa Massey, Sonia Anderson, Barry Anderson and friend Tina Jones,; great grandchildren, Tyler Anderson, and Justin Bowman; sisters and brother , Jacqueline Smith, Willadean Bowman, and Jane and Parley Jones; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Anderson; a sister, Maydee Mitchell; brothers, William Matthews, and Dee Watson.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Unity Bible Church with the Rev. Buford Jessup officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, and then will be carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 min before the service.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
