Mr. Gerald Douglas Bowlin, 38, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009, in Forsyth County. Born in Richmond County, SC, he was the son of Jerry Leslie Bowlin and Karen Hayes Bowlin. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Site Masters Construction in Mississippi. Gerald is survived by his loving and caring mother, Karen Hayes Bowlin of Winston-Salem; his father, Jerry Leslie Bowlin of Clemmons; his wonderful grandmother, Nancy Hayes of Mount Airy; his wife, Alysa Bowlin of Lowgap; a stepdaughter, Lyndsay Reppond of Lowgap; a stepson, Brandon Reppond of Lowgap; several loving aunts and uncles, Shelia and Larry Ramey of Lowgap, Susie Wright of Lowgap, George Hayes III of Mount Airy, Terry Bowlin of King, and Susan Bowlin of Mount Airy; and special cousins, Shannon Slate, Zachary Ramey, Amanda Wright, and Alan Wright. Gerald loved his "little" cousins, Luke Ramey, Falisaty Tate, Adam Slate, and Nathaniel Hayes; and his special dog, Dozier. Gerald was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Wayne Hayes and Leslie E. Bowlin. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 7, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Sammy Lawson and the Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
