Geraldine Fletcher Duffy

Mrs. Geraldine Fletcher Duffy, 66, of 1215 Old Highway 601, Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, September 12, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Duffy was born May 17, 1943, in Surry County, to the late Benton Johnny and Rebecca Venable Fletcher. She was a registered nursing assistant and a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Shelly Boyd and Penny and Lewis Lowe, all of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, James Hill of California, Justin Hill of Mount Airy, Benton Boyd of Ararat, VA, Jesse Boyd of Mount Airy, and Jewel Lowe of Mt. Airy; a great-granddaughter, Rogue Hill of California; a sister, Patsy Fowler of Mount Airy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Peggy Fletcher and Jack and Kay Fletcher, all of Mount Airy; several loving nieces and nephews; and several loving great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Duffy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Duffy; and a brother, Donald Fletcher. The funeral service will be held Monday, September 14, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Don Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
