Mrs. Geraldine Miller Wagoner, 93, of Mt. Airy, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home Monday, April 19, 2021. She was born in Roane County, TN, February 8, 1928, to the late George and Effie Briggs Miller. Mrs. Wagoner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved traveling and spending time with friends and family. She had a laugh that brought a smile to everyone who knew her. Mrs. Wagoner is survived by her loving husband of 74 years William Wagoner, her daughter Deborah Sammons, her son Brian Wagoner (Marsha), son-in-law Clyde Peele, and sister Peggy White. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Tracy Weatherford (Darrell), Stacia Parker (Richie), Amy Harpe (Jason), Shawn Heifrin (Shari), Holly Shields (Josh), Kevin Heifrin (Layne), Kourtney Wagoner, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wagoner was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Peele, son Ricky Wagoner, brothers, Thurman, Junior, Bill, and Jimmy Miller, and a sister Lorene Nance. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Amanda Beck, the second-floor staff at Northern Regional Hospital, and Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care given to Mrs. Wagoner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Skyline Memory Gardens. There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home.
