Gilmer A. "Tommy" Golding

Mr. Gilmer A. "Tommy" Golding, age 79 of Mt. Airy passed away at his home Thursday 25, 2007. Mr. Golding was born June 4, 1928 in Surry County to the late Parley and Lula Dawson Golding, he was retired as a Magistrate for Surry County, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are two brothers C. R. Golding and Ed Golden both of Mt. Airy, a special niece Shirley Edwards of Mt. Airy, several other nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Carrie Golding and Mary Hope Golding both of Mt. Airy and a special friend Jimmy McMickle of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents Mr. Golding was preceded in death by three sisters Maude Smith, Hattie Hale and Rachel Hemmings and by three brothers Tobe Golding, Garnett Golding and Bill Golding. Graveside services will be held Monday October 29, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Bud Cameron. The family will receive friends Sunday night 7 to9 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
