Gilmer Ray Peele

Mr. Gilmer Ray Peele, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 15, 1941 in Surry County to the late Junior and Verla Key Peele. Mr. Peele was a retired farmer and a Tobacco Buyer for Dibrell Brothers Tobacco Company. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 57 years, Linda Ashburn Peele; daughter and son-in-law, Anita Snow and husband Keith; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sunshine Peele; grandchildren, Courtnie Chamberlain and husband Garrett, Summer Genson and husband Casey, Preston Snow, Storm Peele, Harleigh Peele and fiancé Blake Bourne, Sky Peele, Kennedy Snow, Shade Peele, Jessica Cruise; great-grandchildren, Kaidence Wood, Jaxxon Chamberlain, Boston Chamberlain, Woods Genson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde Peele, Wayne and Shirley Peele, Charlie and Lisa Peele as well as several nieces. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Bro. Ed Bowman and Bro. Chris Martin. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens with Military Honors by VFW Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. For those wishing to pay their respects you may do so between the hours of 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
