Mrs. Gladys Branch Collins, age 89 of Dobson, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born December 18, 1928 in Surry County to the late William Fletcher and Nannie Atkinson Branch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her loving husband, Fred Collins; siblings, Stella Coble, Claude Branch, Maude Brendle and Glenn Branch. Mrs. Collins was a retired homemaker and CNA. She was a member of Copeland Baptist Church and the Copeland Chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Collins Poplin of Dobson. Grandchildren, Nancy and Brian Popelka of Winston Salem, Jennifer Galyean of Dobson Jessica and David Childress of Stuart, VA and Austin Poplin of Dobson.  Great grandchildren, Kaia Galyean, Zeke Galyean, Lilliana Popelka and Maddie Childress. Brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Donese Branch of Dobson;  Sister and brother in law Imogene and Clarence Swaim of Randleman; Sister in law Mearl Branch of Dobson; Sister in law Josephine and Norris Hodge of Mount Airy. A special “adopted” daughter, Mary Hudson Standifur.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 12-2 PM at Copeland Baptist Church. The service will follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Steve Hardy and Reverend Alan Branch officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or family will accept flowers. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Collins family.
