Gladys Katherine Danley

Mrs. Gladys Katherine Bowman Danley, 90, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.  She was born in Surry County, September 29, 1928 to the late Jona and Mary Coone Bowman.  She retired from Spencer’s and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.  Mrs. Danley is survived by her children, Bonnie Collins, Ann Chilton, and Roger Danley; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a brother and sisters-in-law, David and Inez Bowman and Dorothy Bowman; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Danley was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Elmer Danley, Sr.; a son, Ellis Elmer Danley, Jr.; brothers, Sammy and Harold Bowman; and sisters, Mary Sue Sechrist, Helen Gammons and a half-sister, Nellie Johnson.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Winfred Davis officiating.  The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
