Gladys "GaGa" Annette Combs

Mrs. Gladys Annette “GaGa” Hawks Combs, age 80, of Cana, passed away Wednesday, January 01, 2020, at Heritage Hall-Laurel Meadows.  Mrs. Combs was born in Carroll County on April 29, 1939, to Troy Murphy and Dorothy Viola Edwards Hawks.  She was retired from Hanes Brands and was a loving mother and sister who will be dearly missed.  Surviving is her son, Michael Easter; a sister and brother-in-law Imogene and Raymond Dawson and a special friend, Darlene Vass.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Easter, her second husband, Harley J. Combs; a sister Dorsa Hawks; and brothers, Wade Hawks, Dallas Hawks and Ules Hawks.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 6, 2020, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Jones and Rev. Tony Holder.  Burial will follow in Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday beginning at 12:30.
