Gladys Freeman Golden

Mrs. Gladys Freeman Golden, age 80, of 125 Fire Walker Lane, Mt. Airy, NC wife of Mr. Ed Golden passed away Sunday night, August 26, 2007 at Central Continuing Care. She was born November 30, 1926 in Surry County, NC to the late Charlie and Beatrice Vernon Freeman. Mrs. Golden was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband , Ed Golden of the home, a son and daughter-in-law, Steve Golden, I and Susan Golden, Mt. Airy, NC, a grandson, Ed Steven (Blu) Golden, II, and a sister, Ethel Raith, Mt. Airy, NC. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dale Wallace. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends 9:30 AM Wednesday until the hour of the funeral service at Moody Funeral Home. The family would to express a special thanks to the staff of Central Continuing Care, Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, William E. "Crab" Smith and Mrs. Betty Epperson for all the kindness and help given during Mrs. Golden's iIlness.
