Gladys Louise Doss Johnson

Mrs. Gladys Louise Doss Johnson, age 84, of Dobson, passed away, Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born May 5, 1938, in Surry County to the late Jesse James Doss and the late Pearl Childress Doss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Buddy Johnson; her son, Ricky Johnson; and several brothers and one sister, Stacy Doss.

            Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Janice Stokes Summerlin and Kenneth Summerlin; son and daughter-in-law, James Ray and Gail Johnson; and her son, Keith Allen Johnson (Doris Draughn); grandchildren, Jason Stokes, Eric Stokes, Chelsea Johnson, Melissa Johnson and Derek Woody; great-grandchildren, Rylee Stokes, Braylynn Stokes, Anthony Carpenter, Kaylynn Stokes, Bane Dale Johnson and Skyler Woody; and her sisters, Jean Robertson and Brenda Allison (David). Mrs. Johnson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; great-great-grandmother to Maliah Carpenter, and Greyson Helton. She was of the Baptist faith, worked at the Candle Company and was loved by all who knew her. Visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Preacher Glinard Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Richmond Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Service is serving the Johnson family.
