Mrs. Gladys Tucker Allen McCormick age 66 of 1904 Lace Knoll Road, East Bend, NC wife of Mr. Charlie McCormick passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born March 12, 1942 in Surry County to the late Luther Herman Tucker and Annie Tucker Jenkins. She was retired from Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind and was a member of the White Plains Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Charlie McCormick of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kyle Murray, Thomasville, a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Debbie Allen, Yadkinville, three grandchildren and a spouse, Robert and Bridgett Murray, Ft. Louis, WA, Trent Murray, Mt. Airy and Lee Allen, Yadkinville, seven great grandchildren, Victoria Andre, Bryson, Caydence, Melody , Trinity, Gavin and Nyomie Murray, two sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine and Bobby Slate, Mt. Airy, and Helen Hudson, Mt. Airy, and a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Bill and Pat Tucker, Mt. Airy. In addition to her first husband, Chester Allen, Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by, 3 sisters, Cora Lee Edwards, JoAnn Tate and Arlene Heller. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted by Rev. Bill Tucker. Burial will follow in the Willis Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 PM at Moody Funeral Home.
