Mrs. Gladys Quesinberry Puckett, 95, 176 Twin Oak Road, Ararat, VA, passed away Friday morning, April 3, 2009, at her home. She was born January 15, 1914, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Waller Edmond and Gillie Frances Hendricks Quesinberry. She was a a homemaker and attended Doe Run Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, A.G. and Conelia Puckett and Montague and Juanita Puckett, all of Ararat, VA; four grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa and Ronald Marshall and Dale and Debra Puckett, all of Ararat, VA, Keith and Barbara Puckett of Statesville, and Dean and Ginger Puckett of White Plains; eight great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Pauline Wood of Vesta, VA, and Ila Mae and Ralph Hall and Glennis Bowman, all of Ararat, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Sowers; and four brothers, Clive Quesinberry, Herbert Quesinberry, Cecil Quesinberry, and Hayden Quesinberry. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
