Gladys Marsh White

Gladys Marsh White, 89, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at her home. She was born January 17, 1936, in Yadkin County to the late Gurney Albert and Mallie Helton Marsh. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved attending her grandchildren’s scout events, ball games, school functions and traveling with her family. After retirement, she enjoyed her “breakfast” friends until COVID closed the dining room at McDonalds. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clifford White; brothers, Junior Marsh and Delmer Marsh; sisters, Gaynelle Marsh, Wanda Pierce, Peggy Marsh, and Reba Sexton. Gladys was a dedicated member of Open Door Baptist Church and taught children’s Sunday School for many years. She attended Church faithfully until her health declined. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Betty White Taylor and Jim; grandson, Cory Taylor (Kelsey); granddaughter, Kelsey Taylor Jamison (Austin); two great grandsons, Nolan and Grayson Taylor; and sisters, Shirley Lewis (Danny) and Linda Orchard; a brother-in-law, Larry Pierce; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family offers deep gratitude to her caregiver, Sandy Brewer, and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice who provided in-home services during the final month. Visitation will be held at Moody Funeral Service in Dobson on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Following, at 11:30 AM, a graveside committal will be held at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, NC is serving the White family.
