Glen Edwards

Mr. Glen Edwards, age 84 of Mt. Airy, husband of Cora Belle Mayes Edwards, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County, July 23, 1922 to Daniel Austin and Cena Hall Edwards. He was a loving husband, father grandfather and was retired from Henredon Furniture. Surviving are his precious wife since December of 1942, Cora Belle Mayes Edwards of the home; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Buck and Gloria Edwards; Bobby and Jean Edwards and Lester Edwards all of Mt. Airy and Henry Edwards of Dobson; ten grandchildren including two special granddaughters, Lois Edwards and Angela Edwards; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by sisters, Hattie Hiatt, and Catherine Easter; brothers, Leroy Edwards, John D. Edwards, Isaac Edwards; Loman Edwards and Foy Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Woody Edwards. Burial will follow in Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
